However, there are applications where the distance and / or the material often change during use e.g. bulky parts on a conveyor belt, web on rollers and winders etc. There it can be beneficial to control and adjust the time allocation of positive and negative ion emission.
In the case of unwinders, for example, charge islands of both polarities form inhomogeneously on the material. Adjusting the ion output of the corresponding polarity can be advantageous here, also because the antistatic bars must act over a large distance range and are therefore also clocked more slowly.
Based on the current power requirement, our electrodes detect the current electric field and thus adjust the ion output to the corresponding opposite polarity fully automatically in order to adjust the discharge results. However, ions of the other polarity are always generated in order to neutralise charge islands of the other polarity as well.
